Started in 1969 by Jim and Evelyn Harden as a small automotive repair shop and towing service, Jim's Towing Service is now headquartered on Alken Way in Bakersfield, California. The fleet grew to 35 units by the 1980s, and second-generation owner Randy Harden purchased the company in 1997, adding heavy-duty towing and recovery. Third-generation Tyler Harden joined in 2003 as a mechanic and built JTS Truck Repair, a fleet maintenance and repair company for medium and heavy on-road trucks offering roadside assistance and in-shop service. Today the company runs about 50 trucks and offers light-duty towing for vehicles up to one ton, medium-duty towing up to 32,000 pounds, and equipment transportation for loads between 10,000 and 120,000 pounds, available 24/7.
