Family-run since 1933, once among the nation's first AAA service providers
Eastwood Towing was opened in 1933 in the east end of Waterbury, Connecticut, by William 'Bill' O. Messer, who ran a small repair shop before buying a tow truck and becoming one of the first AAA contractors in the nation. His son Charlie later joined with his wife Lucille, and Charlie's son Jim joined the business in 1985; Jim and his wife Patricia have run the company since Charlie's passing in the mid-1990s, making it a third-generation, family-owned operation. The fleet has grown to eighteen trucks and four trailers, and the company can store up to 150 vehicles at its impound yard. Eastwood is a member of Towing & Recovery Professionals of Connecticut and the Professional Towers of Waterbury, holds 48-state ICC authority for long-distance transport, and offers Se Habla Español service from its location off I-84 Exit 25A.
