Upman's Towing Service has operated as a family-owned and operated business since 1955, originally founded by James Upman as a garage and gas station before evolving into a towing company. James retired in 1995 and passed the business to his son, Randy. Today the company runs three locations in Sarasota, Bradenton, and Venice, Florida, with more than 20 trucks, trailers, and other equipment. Services include light and heavy-duty towing and recovery, medium-duty box trucks, exotic car transport, landoll and lowboy service, and 24-hour roadside assistance covering flat tires, lockouts, jump starts, and gas delivery. Employees go through background, drug, and alcohol screening as well as training programs, and managers are on staff 24 hours a day.
