Fifth-generation Tampa tugboat company operating 16 tugs since 1960
Headquartered on South West Shore Boulevard in Tampa, Dann Ocean Towing traces its roots to paddle wheel steamboats in the 1860s before formally launching as Dann Ocean Towing in 1960, making it a fifth-generation marine towage company. The current fleet includes 16 tugs ranging from 1,800 to 4,600 horsepower, supporting ocean and coastwise towing, contract towing, barge management, harbor assist and shifting, dredging and marine construction support, salvage and rescue towing, oilfield support, anchor handling, and mega-yacht towing along the US East Coast, Gulf of Mexico, and international waters including trans-Atlantic and trans-Pacific routes. Dann Ocean Towing is a member of the American Waterways Operators and its Responsible Carrier Program, and an associate member of the American Salvage Association. The company also operates ABS-classed tugs for work in Mexico and maintains a mooring facility on New York's harbor.
