Americus, Georgia towing family business open continuously since 1928
Peacock Towing has operated in Americus, Georgia since being founded on July 12, 1928 by Roy Peacock Sr., who coined the company's "Sudden Service" motto during the Great Depression by nailing the shop doors open so he wouldn't miss a call. Family members still run the business today, handling car towing, flat tire changes, lockout service, accident recovery, long-distance transport, and winch-outs for vehicles stuck in mud or water. The fleet includes small and heavy wreckers, service trucks, heavy-duty carriers, and wreckers equipped with transport trailers. Peacock Towing serves on the towing rotation for the Americus Police Department, Sumter County Sheriff's Office, Leslie Police Department, Plains Police Department, and Georgia State Patrol Post 10. Regular office hours run Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with after-hours emergency service available.
