Owner-operated Augusta towing run by George Shackelford since 1991
Roadside Rescue has been exclusively owned and operated by its founder, George Shackelford, since opening in Augusta in 1991. The company serves both Georgia and South Carolina, offering jump starts, spare tire installation, and towing without the multiple-employee structure of larger wrecker services. Shackelford states the business does not tow or impound illegally parked or abandoned vehicles and will never move a vehicle without the owner's knowledge or consent. Payment is accepted by credit card, debit card, cash, or Cash App, and customers receive a complimentary text alert the moment their vehicle is delivered. Appointments begin at 8:00 a.m. Monday through Friday until the schedule fills, with the business closed on major holidays and the week between Christmas and New Year's.
