Statewide Illinois towing trade association founded in 1980
The Professional Towing & Recovery Operators of Illinois is a nonprofit trade association headquartered in Hickory Hills, formed in 1980 to represent towing and recovery businesses across the state. Rather than dispatching trucks itself, the organization tracks and lobbies on legislation affecting towers, covering topics such as relocation towing rules, lighting requirements, and vehicle recovery regulations, and it maintains relationships with the Illinois State Police and local law enforcement agencies. Member benefits include education and training programs, an annual tow show, a newsletter, and a member handbook. The association has become a recognized voice in Springfield, regularly asked to weigh in on legislation that affects the towing and recovery industry statewide.
