Ricks Towing & Transport traces back to 1967, when Rick and Donna started a towing and repair shop that was incorporated in 1975. Rick was a founding member of the Towing Recovery Professionals of Iowa, and the business is now run by second-generation owners Bill and Kathy, who dropped the repair shop side in the 1980s to focus on towing and later added transport and crane services in the early 2000s. The company's fleet includes more than 15 trucks and trailers used for light- and medium-duty towing, flatbed hauling, and container and heavy equipment transport. Ricks Towing & Transport holds long-standing towing relationships with the Urbandale and West Des Moines police departments and the Iowa State Patrol, serving Grimes, the Des Moines metro area, and the wider Midwest.
