Roadrunner Towing & Recovery has served the Baton Rouge area since founder James Smart started the company with one tow truck in 1969. Following his death in 2001, his wife Judy M. Smart took over as owner and president, and the business remains woman-owned and family-operated into its third generation. The fleet includes more than 13 light- to heavy-duty wreckers, among them a rotator capable of lifting up to 70 tons for large truck and tractor-trailer recoveries. Services span light-, medium-, and heavy-duty towing, accident recovery, winch-outs, rollovers, electric vehicle towing, and secure vehicle storage. Roadrunner Towing & Recovery holds membership in the Louisiana Motor Transport Association, the Towing & Recovery Association of America, the American Trucking Association, and the Towing & Recovery Professionals of Louisiana, and carries an A+ Better Business Bureau rating dating back to 2009.
