Since November 1976, Smith Marine Towing has served the offshore transportation industry from Morgan City, Louisiana, operating a fleet of offshore towing and anchor handling tugs ranging from 3,600 to 6,000 horsepower. Nearly 80 percent of the company's work over the past decade has involved dredging support, including scow barge spoil delivery, anchor handling, dredge tending and towing, and pipe tows. Other services cover project cargo and chemical barge tows, ship assist and holding ships on the Mississippi River, offshore construction and dive support, and marine salvage along the Gulf Coast and U.S. Eastern and Western coasts. Vessels are ABS classed, and the company is a member of the American Waterways Operators, DISA, and ISNetworld.
