Now in its sixth generation of family ownership, Dann Marine Towing operates a fleet of ocean and coastal tugboats plus inland push boats ranging from 1,100 to 5,600 horsepower. The company's home base, Canal Place, sits on the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal in Chesapeake City, Maryland, and has belonged to the Dann family since the 1950s. Additional tugs are based in Baltimore, Philadelphia, Norfolk, and New York, supporting operations along the US East Coast, Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean, and South America, as well as the Great Lakes. Dann Marine Towing has been part of the American Waterways Operators Responsible Carrier Program since 1999 and expanded its safety management system to meet the International Safety Management Code in 2012. The fleet also includes tank barges, jumbo hopper barges, deck barges, and five self-unloading cement barges available for charter.
