Hampshire Towing traces its roots to 1970, when Bob Ahern opened a towing operation alongside his body shop in Granby, Massachusetts. Bill Johnson purchased the company in 1996 and grew it into a full-service towing and road service operation now headquartered in South Hadley, with additional terminals in Holyoke, Belchertown, Westfield, and Agawam. The fleet has expanded past 30 trucks and includes a 60-ton rotator for specialty recoveries. Hampshire Towing's dispatch center is staffed 24 hours a day for light, medium, and heavy-duty towing, and its sister company, Pleasant Street Auto, handles collision and mechanical repairs. The company also operates as an authorized Hertz rental facility and runs Amber Scene Clean, which cleans up spills from motor vehicle accidents.
