Jim and Sara Moore founded Bay Marine Salvage & Services, Ltd. in 1997, and the family-owned company now operates three TowBoatU.S. ports covering Bay City, Caseville, and Port Austin on Michigan's Saginaw Bay. Licensed personnel provide first-response marine assistance around the clock, including on-water towing, soft ungroundings, jump starts, fuel delivery, recovery of submerged or grounded objects, underwater cutting, and dock and hoist installation and removal. Captains Gerry Chalifoux and Larry Lienczewski each hold fifty-ton master's licenses, while Melissa Leach also captains for the company. Bay Marine additionally offers diving services and wreck and debris removal for boaters throughout the Saginaw Bay and Thumb region, working alongside the nationwide TowBoatU.S. dispatch network.
