Burlington, NC towing and tire service with roots dating to 1970
Battleground Tire & Wrecker traces its start to a Highway 62 supermarket opened by brothers Robert and Tony Bowman in the 1960s, before towing was added in 1970 after a wrecker bought for resale ended up supporting the attached service station. Steve Bowman, Robert's son, became a partner in 1987 and took full ownership in 1998. The company offers 24/7 local and long-distance towing for light and heavy-duty vehicles, heavy and light-duty recovery, mobile truck and trailer repair, mobile tire repair and sales, diesel and trailer repair, and flatbed transport for exotic, sports, and classic autos, plus a Heavy Incident Response Unit for complex recoveries. In 2007, Steve Bowman sold the business to the owners of Kirk's-Sineath Towing, and it now operates from Burlington, NC as part of that combined group, holding membership in state and national towing associations.
