Since 1926, when Verling and Esther Nelson opened a small garage on High Street, Nelson's Body Shop & Towing has served St. Marys, Ohio. The business, now run by the third generation of the Nelson family, combines a 24-hour towing and roadside assistance operation with a full auto body shop. Roadside services include local and long-distance towing, recovery towing, light and medium-duty winching, lockouts, jump-starts, tire changes, fuel delivery, and equipment moving. The collision repair side handles frame work, automotive painting, and refinishing and restoration for classic and modern vehicles, and the shop provides free estimates and works with all insurance companies. Nelson's also serves as an impound facility for local law enforcement and covers the Auglaize and Mercer County area, including Celina, Wapakoneta, New Bremen, Minster, and Spencerville.
