Third-generation Humboldt, Tennessee wrecker service running since 1968
Founded in 1968 by Earl Privitt, Privitt's Wrecker Service has stayed in the family for three generations, now run by Rickey and Dale Privitt out of two Humboldt, Tennessee locations. The company handles auto hauling, heavy-duty towing, off-road recovery, lockouts, winch-outs, and tow-away of abandoned vehicles across Madison, Gibson, Crockett, and Carroll counties, along with impound and vehicle release services during weekday office hours. Drivers are Homeland Security certified and have completed Traffic Incident Management training. Beyond the wrecker business, the family also runs a five-truck scrap trucking operation and, as of 2025, a second Jackson-area location to expand towing coverage. Fourteen employees work across the two businesses, which the family describes as an extension of itself. The company is not a salvage yard and does not sell parts.
