Merrill, Wisconsin's Rod's Towing & Service dates to 1973, when Rod and Diane Pichelman started Rod's Wrecker Service and Rod's Repair. Wayne and Marion Lammert took over the repair shop and wrecker business in 2004, renaming it Rod's Towing & Service LLC, and added a heavy-duty wrecker in 2010. In August 2016, the company purchased Mount View Towing, a Wausau-area business founded in 1979 by Tim and Lois Murphy, later relocating that operation to Prairie Street in Weston. Today the company runs a NAPA AutoCare Center in Merrill staffed by ASE-certified technicians, alongside 24/7 towing licensed for out-of-state heavy-duty hauling. Services cover light, medium, and heavy-duty towing and recovery for cars, semis, farm equipment, and construction machinery across Merrill, Wausau, and Tomahawk, Wisconsin.
